High 5 Turkey Burgers

  • 2 pounds ground turkey

  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic

  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger

  • ¼ cup onion, minced

  • ½ avocado, smashed

  • ½ teaspoon each ground coriander and cumin

  • 1 tsp curry powder (more or less to taste)

  • ¼ cup fresh salsa, drained well

  • High 5 Salt of your choice to taste

  • High 5 Fixer Upper to taste


  • pre-heat a medium sauté pan over medium heat; in a bit of neutral oil, sauté garlic, ginger, and onion until golden and fragrant
  • add curry, cumin, coriander, and cardamom and toast lightly; remove from heat and allow to cool
  • mix turkey, avocado, salsa, and garlic mixture to combine, along with about 2 teaspoons High 5 Salt of your choice (or to taste)
  • thoroughly cook a small piece of turkey and taste; adjust seasoning
  • divide the mixture into 8 log-shaped patties and grill over medium-high heat until completely cooked through, about 4 minutes per side
  • serve in warm pita or naan with plain yogurt and sliced cucumber and a pinch of High 5 Fixer Upper
